We were delighted to be asked by FMC Technologies to organize their 30th Anniversary celebrations – a celebration to thank the hard work and dedication of their staff and international guests. A global organisation, based in Scotland, we were asked to focus on the Scottish, American, Norwegian influence and so we incorporated all these elements into their fantastic evening of celebration.

The Edinburgh International Conference Centre was the venue and there was a truly fantastic range of entertainment including a traditional Scottish piper and duo; the Gutty Slippers; magicians and caricaturists; an American casino and jazz trio and the extraordinary Scottish comedienne Elaine C Smith. Never before have we seen so much laughter from an audience – Elaine had them eating out of her hands. She was absolutely tremendous. Champagne and wine flowed throughout the evening and the menu was a mouth watering invention of foods from Scotland, USA and Norway – and their was even a birthday cake to enjoy. A fantastic night and FMC Technologies and their staff definitely celebrated!

We have been working with the Trading Standards Institute now for nine years planning and delivering their annual conference & exhibition.

Due to the hard work and dedication of the team here at Crescent Events, this event has seen considerable growth over the past nine years. 76 exhibitors participated in the first year of our involvement and we now have in excess of 120 exhibitors each year, utilizing 2000sqm of exhibition space. General attendance has increased from circa 1800 to an overwhelming 3000 attendees during the three day event and it is expected this will continue to rise in the coming years.

We are solely responsible for the delivery of this consumer-focused event and are involved in every aspect from the initial design concept; artwork; design and printed materials; marketing; exhibition planning and sales; mini theatre, advertising and sponsorship sales and ensuring that the tough income targets are met. We also ensure that every element of the event is planned meticulously so that it runs smoothly including - exhibition planning and delivery; audio visual, stage design production and logistics; speaker and programme management (including celebrity presenters); catering; security; hotel accommodation; signage; photography; the list is endless. We also organize a welcome reception, gala dinner, party night and other social events sourcing interesting and enjoyable entertainment. Attention to detail is paramount in the delivery of this ever growing conference and exhibition and we focus our attentions to the health and safety and risk assessment requirement ensuring safety in our delivery.

Multi-national organisations, senior decision makers in business and commerce, government ministers, members of parliament, local and national government, voluntary sector organisations all participate at Europe's leading consumer affairs event and it is exciting being involved with key decision makers in the country.

Microsoft Case Study

Working with Microsoft to create fun-filled summer party nights is exciting! Party nights have been held in Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Brighton – so depending on where the event takes place we consider the options of a local theme! In Edinburgh of course we focus on the Scottish elements because our English, Welsh and Irish guests just love to ceilidh! In Manchester and London – a bit more difficult but salsa dancing and jazz goes down a treat – and where else would you party in Brighton but on Brighton Pier. “Brilliant”, “fun” “scarey”, “fantastic” were some of the comments following the hair-raising rides that were enjoyed (or not) and of course the fish and chips and stick of rock just topped it all! Plenty to drink, lots of dancing and partying is the order of the night in all cases. The more serious but equally enjoyable side is the charity raffle – and we’ve helped to make several thousands of pounds in charitable donations over the past few years.

These events are great fun and so enjoyable to plan! Thanks Microsoft!
